Car Clubs
A car club has its own fleet of cars located in convenient locations around a city, available to book on a pay-as-you-go basis. These cars can be booked for little as half an hour, an hour, a day or as long as you want.
The idea is that you have access to a car near you which you can drive as if it's your own, but without the financial burden and hassle of actually owning it.
Car clubs work on a membership basis, so in order to book the cars you first need to sign up as a member. With these details you can make bookings online or by phone (at the last minute or in advance).
To unlock the car you simply swipe your membership card against a card reader on the windscreen, enter your PIN into an in-car terminal and drive off.
Some well-know names are Zipcar, Streetcar but there are others check Google.
